I would like to do something along the lines of hacking and how it is represented commonly in media. I’m a computer science major and I have spent a lot of time with computers in my life. And over that time I have done some of the things which would traditionally be considered ‘hacking’. Throughout all of that experience I have never once encountered a situation which even remotely resembles the fast paced and somewhat absurd hacking which is often represented in movies and tv shows. I think that I would like to take a more humorous point of view on the issue because once you actually get to see the boring drudgery that is hacking, how it is represented is just absolutely absurd. I would like to take the route of being painfully accurate as a contrast to the overblown and ridiculous representations of hacking. Which I believe will make this pretty image oriented because I think that will more easily serve as a medium to show how average and boring hacking is. I’d also like to alter how hacking is seen as this thing which can bust into any sort of technology, and instead paint a more accurate picture of the scope of hacking and what a hacker is generally capable of. I have a feeling that I will definitely need to brush back up on some of the more complex hacking skills, however I doubt that will serve as much of a problem. Overall, I would really like people take away the fact that hacking is a very unexciting and menial activity for the most part.
