I am considering centering Project 3 around the topic of cultural history of the Philippines and how it has been greatly influenced by other countries such as Spain and China. I am interested in this because I have a Filipino background and lived in the Philippines for a large part of my childhood, so I am familiar with the diverse culture in the country.  For specific types of examples, I would include a text or page each explaining how Filipino food, cultural practices, and language has developed over time and how it has been influenced by other cultures as well. I hope that my exhibit will provide the audience with useful knowledge about Filipino culture and why it has become the way it is through years of colonization and trade with other countries. I also hope the audience will have a better understanding of how the country is unique within the continent of Asia after exploring the exhibit.

For the design of the digital exhibit, I plan to make it text-oriented instead of image oriented (with the exception of the food page) so I can provide more detailed explanation about the history of the topics. I think I will include both a map and a timeline since a map would be useful for showing the proximity of the Philippines to other Asian countries, while the timeline would show the extent of Spanish colonization in the country. The purpose of my exhibit would be mostly to inform and educate the audience on Filipino culture, and it would have an academic tone. For now, I do not have any questions since I have not learned how to create the exhibit yet, but I will probably have questions in the future about how to create the exhibit.
